Upon entering our clinic, our receptionist will welcome you and explain how to complete our patient forms. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.
Next, you will see a short video about chiropractic and orientation of what to expect in our clinic. Then you will have a consultation with Dr. Harrah to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for us to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine what kind(s) of care can meet your goals.
After your consultation, Dr. Harrah will perform as much physical examination as necessary including testing your muscles, flexibility, neurological (reflexes), orthopedic, postural, and physical tests as necessary to form a diagnosis at this time or to know what imaging may be necessary next. However, nothing will be done in our clinic without your consent.
Depending on your specific condition, we may take X-rays or order an MRI etc. when medically necessary. Imaging will help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. Many patients are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. Sometimes, they can even identify their mis-alignments and degeneration themselves.
Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, you will see another brief video that will aid your understanding of what Dr. Harrah will explain to you in a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions including:
After reviewing your health history, goals, examination, and imaging results, he will discuss treatment plan options and recommendations as well as tell you if your condition also requires care with other healthcare providers. Dr. Harrah will provide the best treatment and wellness program for your needs.
At the conclusion of this initial appointment, you can choose to experience your first treatment. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy, and/or many other options listed in our treatment services. Treatment is interactive, so you can express concerns about the different styles of treatment anytime.
Prior to leaving, the doctor may suggest then or sometime later a wellness program to incorporate treatment outside of the clinic treatment. If you are in pain when you first come into our clinic this may include: hot &/or cold application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and at home exercises and/or stretches. If you desire, we'll work with you also to create healthy habits and routines for your lifestyle. Every person is unique, therefore everyone requires a customized wellness plan. The purpose of our wellness program is for you to achieve good spinal alignment, have a healthy diet, exercise, and maintain a positive mental state.
